Puri: One fisherman has gone missing while five others had a narrow escape when the motorised boat in which they were going to sea to catch fish capsized about 100 metres away from the coast near Konark today.
According to reports, six fishermen of Chandrabhaga Nolia Sahi today set sail on a motorised boat for fishing in the deep sea near Konark. About 100 metres from the coast the boat capsized while five could manage to swim ashore one went missing.
The missing fisherman has been identified as PK Apalaraju. The fishermen who could swim ashore are PK Apana, Koda Seba, Benigu Kandia, Wanka Sinu, Mailipili and Chinna.
Search and rescue operation by Fire Services and ODRAF personnel is underway.
